What animal is this?

Hi everyone, we caught this creature on trail camera last night. We have no idea what it is. Can anyone help us figure out what it is? Thank you in advance.

Where was the picture taken?
Has the head of a wolverine, but looks too short legged, must be a coon.

That’s a young one. The other photo looks like a larger one to me. Face down and probably moving quicker hence the blurry face. Head pointing down. Did you check tracks?

It’s from a cellular camera and we are out of state headed home from vacation.

I don't think you can say definitively that it's NOT Gulo gulo, but I would guess bad lighting is obscuring some raccoon-like features.

Thank you for the sharing of the article. The first thing I thought when I saw it was wolverine. Too big for raccoon and doesn’t have the ears of a raccoon. Maybe a cross over breed of some sort.

Look at the eye spacing, the short ears and the broad shoulders and the stance, believe that is a wolverine. Didn't think so until @QuazyQuinton posted the pic. Saw my one and only on the Idaho/Utah border a few years ago, cool critters.
