I see a big front is poised to have an effect on the third season opener. We leave soon for the 4th season and I was curious what snow cover is already on the ground. Can anyone tell me about conditions near Grand Junction or points South?

And if you have plans for the 3rd season, be ready for the weather and best of luck to you.

Low elevations seem dry, although I haven't gone looking for muddy roads. North of Grand Junction, the roads were a mess 6000-7000 feet elevation with snow melting off. The higher elevations appear to be holding snow as of now.

Depending on where you plan to go, the NRCS snotel sites have close to real time data on snow totals. The sites are all in the higher country, but there may be one close enough to the area you plan to hunt to be somewhat useful. Doesn't help with road conditions, but gives you some info for on the ground conditions.
