Thanks for the welcome fellows.

I have no idea when I actually joined this forum, but I 'think' this is my second post.

In talking to Moosie today, the subject of public lands came up. He politely pointed me to some threads where bashing of the Blue Ribbon Coalition was taking place. I read a small portion of the posts and noticed Mr Ithaca37 has some issues with them. I am going to read all the posts before sticking my size 11 in my mouth.

Then the offenders will be dealt with appropriately

FYI - I suck at hunting, maybe a Karma thing. My interest in the BRC has to do with snowmobiling mostly, but public access overall. They are on our side.

BTW - Hangar18 - Killer song by Megadeth. Elk Turd & Wiley will second this motion.

I dont know if Ithica actually bashed the BRC, just has pointed out their many flaws, and the general uselessness of the organization as a whole....

You must be one of those land raping snowmobile riding drunk morons.

FEW -

From what I wrote, you drew the conclusion I am a LAND RAPING SNOWMOBILE RIDING DRUNK MORON ROTFLMFAO!! How is that? Have you stereotyped snowmobilers into a single catagory? You have serious issues with distorting the written word. You must drive your husband crazy.

FYI - Snowmobiles are ridden on SNOW, hence the word "SNOW" in the description of the machine. Snow falls and lies on top of land. You ride the snowmobile not on land, but on top of the snow which is on top of the land. Therefore, snowmobiles and their respective riders cannot rape anything with dirt on it.

Within the group of 20 or people I ride with, there is probably less beer consumed per weekend than you and your friends consume at one of your tupperware parties. I don't drink at all, on or off the snow. If you knew anything about snowmobiles, you would know that a can in the storage compartment would burst with 100 feet of the trailer. There are folks that do ride and drink, drink and ride. We condemn this practice. Not in my group, or any others that I know for that matter. Riding season is short enough as it is. Most of the country we ride in would be un-navigable if you were intoxicated. Beer adds weight to the sled, dropping weight from sleds is something snowmobilers spend big $$ on. Packing huge quantities of alcohol is couterproductive. Any added weight we bring has to do with food, water and winter & avalanche survival gear.

As for Ithaca, he is bashing. You said it yourself. When someone points out only one side of an issue, (the flaws) they are bashing the other side. Ithaca's so-called uselessness position is based on opinions of people with an agenda. They are paid to sway public opinion, not deliver the news. Ithaca has committed to stereotyping as well. Only is this case, as well as yours, the stereotyping has been done based on narrowminded rhetoric. You do not listen to anyone that disagrees with you, and you hold in highest regard those you do agree with. 99% of those that ride snowmobiles, ATVs, OHVs, etc. are responsible yet you both have allowed the 1% to form your stereotypes. That's like saying someone poached an elk, therefore all hunters are bad. Someone shot someone else, so all gun owners must be murderers. And spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat.

As for the BRC, I challenge anyone to find evidence where they advocate irresponsibility on public lands. Yes, they are flawed, in that they have to fight for public access essentially by themselves. They have an annual budget of around $600,000. The top salary at the Sierra Club was $200,000 in 1999 while the head of their fundraising efforts made $100K. Their Exec. Director Carl Pope made $138,000. Their contributions that year were near $36 million. That's just one group. All this information was taken from the story "Environment, Inc." by the Sacramento Bee.

LMAO I was fuggin around dude. Just wanted to see what you could dish out.

That was pretty good you should be able to add some more spark to the multiple use land rapers vs nature nazis argument. I just like to read the stuff down here I learn alot from it, and I have to admit I find it really fun too. Read around you should find plenty to argue about and I need some more entertainment.

Hanger, Thanks for the information.

" 99% of those that ride snowmobiles, ATVs, OHVs, etc. are responsible yet you both have allowed the 1% to form your stereotypes."

Do you have any reports/data/links to back up that claim or are you guessing? I suspect a lot more than 1% of ATV riders are very irresponsible.

It says=Do you have any reports/data/links to back up that claim or are you guessing? I suspect a lot more than 1% of ATV riders are very irresponsible

DO YOU HAVE ANY TO PROVE IT'S NOT??

Welcom Hanger. I think Paul hit the nail on the head. You and IT will love each other. lol..... I read his arguements and scratch my head. ( Do you have any reports on this ) Come on IT. look it up yourself.

mike, "DO YOU HAVE ANY SO PROVE IT'S NOT??"

Sorry, I don't understand your question.

I remember when F&G first started putting out deer decoys on posted property to see if people would shoot at them from the road and they were amazed at the high percentage of vehicles that stopped so somebody could take a shot! One time it was 27 out of 32 vehicles that drove by!

FEW -
quote:
add some more spark to the multiple use land rapers vs nature nazis argument

LMFAO!!

ITHACA - Try as I did, I could not find totals for the state of Idaho. You sparked me to dig for some data, so I learned some new things. I found that the Forest Service documents violations and citations. Not a very good ratio either.

Targhee National Forest EIS

No documented damage, only sign damage, sign violations and closure violations.

The interesting thing was a statement of law enforcement problems resulting from having more restrictions to enforce. Congratulations, the greenies have created more problems than they are solving.

Say this three times aloud, three times a day, and you will someday see the light:
EDUCATION - NOT LEGISLATION
EDUCATION - NOT LEGISLATION
EDUCATION - NOT LEGISLATION

As for those terrible snowmobiles, 2003 -70,000 sleds enter YNP, 358 citations. 350 of those were between West & Old Faithful. 20 more citations than last year, and double from 200-2001. Roughly, that's 99.5% of sleds entering YNP NOT being cited. I'm sure you can speculate on the number that did not get caught, but since you have no data to back it up, save yourself the trouble.

Oh yeah - Sources:
70,000 sleds
358 citations

I've done my part - Your turn. Find some data that proves me wrong. I'll listen.

C'mon, surely you can do better than that. That's like saying crime rates are so high in big cities because there is too many laws to enforce.

Ickytha, what makes you think I was ever on a wagon?

Are you projecting your problems onto others?

What gave you the idea that I might need to get on the wagon?

You insinuation shows that you really are a arrogant, self centerd, self rightout, dumb #*^@#*

Put that in your pipe and smoke it ya prick!
