I gave my baby away this weekend. This won't be a fancy write up and I will try to not make this to long. It's hard to believe that my firstborn is already married. I remember the day she was born. My wife was just 19 years old when our daughter was born. Hard to believe how fast time has gone by. Brooklyn definitely loved spending time outdoors with daddy. She started going hunting with me at 5. Killed her first turkey and deer at 10. At 16 she killed a bear. She has grown into a beautiful young woman her mother and I are proud of. I had the honor of preaching her wedding. I have been her pastor most of her life. Her marrying a good man and having a Christian home means more to me than wealth, career, big home, etc.
Hard to process how you can be happy and sad at the same time. All though I saw it coming it brought me to tears when Zach asked me if he could marry my daughter. They will be moving to SE Texas. I'm trying to look at it like I gained a son instead of losing my daughter.
After the reception I picked them up outside in my wife's 1956 Ford Fairlane and took them a few miles down the road to the church I pastor. Looking forward to hunting with my new son in law!
Wishing them the best as they start their new life together!
