Interesting. I spend quite a bit of time on the BNF. I'll look harder cause I haven't seen any cattle in a long time. mtmuleyOn grazing allotments, 190,000 acres worth.
It's probably been a long time since you've seen a majority of the Bitterroot National Forest.Interesting. I spend quite a bit of time on the BNF. I'll look harder cause I haven't seen any cattle in a long time. mtmuley

A few cattle grazed up in Gird during the summer. Haven't been up there lately to see if they are still there. Some cattle grazed on the Idaho side of Nez Perce years ago. Can't imagine it's worth hauling them in there today.Interesting. I spend quite a bit of time on the BNF. I'll look harder cause I haven't seen any cattle in a long time. mtmuley
You might want to have the BNF give you an update before BYOC over here to graze. On the Bitterroot National Forest.

Nobeef hill this morning. Fence around it is about ready to fall over, but the 20 or so mule deer feeding above it don't seem to mind.

Easier way to make a living than raising beef these days, anyway.

Yep. But there are folks building homes like that here every year. I know guys that worked on the Devries house. Guess it's really something. mtmuleyThat's Jackson Hole money right there!

I never planned on bringing cattle, the allotments have been locked up for decades most likely. You might want to have the BNF give you an update before BYOC over here to graze.
Some of the allotments are suspended. Some aren't being used. Call the BNF and ask about the current status if you are that worried about it.I never planned on bringing cattle, the allotments have been locked up for decades most likely.
I bet usage has been declining every year for a long time. mtmuleySome of the allotments are suspended. Some aren't being used. Call the BNF and ask about the current status if you are that worried about it.
They do it the day they get here. mtmuleyRan into a guy hunting today complaining about all the people moving here. I ask how long he had been here. He says forever, like 18 years.
Makes me laugh when folks move here then complain about folks moving here.
