Unfortunately, this is true:

"Ever since he took office, they say, President Bush and his advisers have quietly worked to weaken regulations and laws that protect air, water and other natural resources, laws that in many cases have stood for 30 years. These changes, according to critics, have been made in large part to reward corporate and industrial contributors who made record donations to the Bush election campaign....."

Of course it's true. Here's one from today's paper.

Salazar opens fire on military's move to avoid eco-laws

WASHINGTON - Colorado's top law enforcer urged federal lawmakers Wednesday to block the Pentagon's effort to exempt itself from environmental laws, arguing it would damage efforts to clean up old military sites throughout the state.

Well, there's certainly no extreme left wing, Bush hating bias in that article, is there?

Yep, up with Kyoto; Down with the rotten, greedy, over consuming United States!! Kyoto! Gomer Gore's and the Marxist Socialists' main hope to destroy the capitalistic system of the Great Satan, United States! Naturally, any dirty capitalistic pig who violated the Great Kyoto Accords, would be hauled into the World Court at The Hague, at the point of the United Nations Police's guns, and tried by U.S. hating, foreign judges. That's the way the world oughta be, by Ford! Hurrah for Kyoto!

And of course, anything the Sierra Club spews out is absolute gospel and absolutely UNQUESTIONABLE, huh? In additon to their long time support of confiscation of our evil firearms, and banning horrible hunting, the Sierra Club long ago was taken over by the extreme left wing radicals. But, as the great hero of many, Bill Klinton, would say, "It's all for the children, so, by any means necessary."

Oh, and look at those "authorities" from "The Nation" magazine, forever owned, published, edited and written by Marxist Socialist inspired writers. Yeah, any lie or half lie to restrict businesses and individual property owners more and more, and place Big Brother and Big Nanny more firmly in our lives than they are now. Afterall, there are NEVER, EVER, ENOUGH LAWS, right?

What next?? Links to other objective, non-biased articles about hunting, such as those by PETA and Fund For Animals, as to how we dirty, filthy, murderous hunters have murdered all the flora & fauna of the world?

Of course, that article is no more biased than Michael Moore's "Bowling For Columbine."
Yep, utter, unmitigated truth in every word.

Uh huh.

Lean, Interesting diatribe, but can you give us some specifics about what in the article is not true?

PS Do you drive a white pickup with a license plate that says "LNWOLF 2"? I saw it today on Curtis Rd. at Emerald.

HAHAHAHA!!!
Lean wolf that was great...Stated very well!!!!

The Sierra Club is on the list put out by the Pink Pistols (I suppose because I put a link up by a gay org. now I'm a faggot) http://www.pinkpistols.org/antigun.html
BUT it does't say any specifics, it could be they got the nti-gun name from a stance on handguns or assault rifles OR in the case of many "anti" org's they got the name from simply contributing to the Democratic National Committee.

Anti-hunting? I'd have to see proof of that...

Stated very well

Kind of like Rush would say it? I don't know where you get your "facts" Leanwolf, but I've never heard of the Sierra Club having any official position on the ownership of firearms, or being in favor of the banning of hunting. In fact, I hear 20% of their members are hunters. And if you look at their website, you will see that they do support hunting and fishing. It's right on their website. Here is a quote by Ted Williams they have on there:

<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>“Hunters and anglers have a long history of protecting and restoring fish, wildlife, and habitat... At the beginning of the 20th century there were about 500,000 white-tailed deer in the United States; today there are 27 million. Only 41,000 elk survived in 1907; now there are a million. In 1910 antelope were down to 5,000; today there are at least a million. A century ago wild turkeys were close to extinction; last spring there were 4.2 million.”<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Here is a link to it if you don't believe me:

www.sierraclub.org/wildlands/hunting_fishing/index.asp

Now, if they are supporting hunting in this way, why would they be against gun ownership? I am not a member of the Sierra Club, but I sure don't think it's right of you to be posting outright lies about them on here when you obviously have not a clue what you are talking about.

My my my my.... I go away for a long weekend of hunting for a bear, doing a little fishing, and looking for a shed or two at the same time, and what do I come back to: people questioning my denoucing of certain "enviro" orgs, and a magazine well known for its extreme left wing bias about anything having to do with capitalism and the U.S. Constitution, when it comes to individual Rights, Freedom, and Liberty.

Now, where do I start??

Ithaca 37, no, I don't drive that white pickup with that plate. Mine's a red F250 4x4. In fact, I gotta find out who that is and sue him for stealing my Internet moniker!! I need a lawyer!

As for refuting some of the stuff in that very biased-against-Bush article, I'll go back to my post on the Kyoto Accords. Kyoto would destroy the sovereignty of the U.S., and eventually close down many industries in the country with onerous restrictions, enforced by the U.N., and "violaters" being tried in the World Court, in The Hague. I'm 100% against Kyoto.

As for ANWR, what they don't bother to tell you is that the plan is to use/explore/drill only 2,200 acres, in a 1,500,000 acre Refuge... and by NOT making that fact known, they strongly imply that the entire Refuge will be destroyed, which is highly disengenous, and misleading to a great degree. Nothing like manipulating people who are not aware of the entire plan. I'm in favor of drilling on those 2,200 acres... as I happen to know ALL the things we use and need, which comes from oil... which is, EVERYTHING in our lives.

Anyhoooo, that's some of my reasoning for mentioning the bias of that article.

Now, for Mr. Washington Dude, and his insults. Really, Mr. Washington, you oughta join the Sierra Club, and look into who's in charge, where they get their main money, and the political goals they seek and legislative bills they support. Believe me, it isn't nearly as altruistic and "all for the children," as they try and brainwash people.

I was a Sierra Club member for some years, while living in Los Angeles, and then dropped out after they began supporting the anti-hunting bills and Propositions (i.e. banning Mountain Lion hunting, banning bear hunting, banning trapping, banning using dogs for hunting, including for bird hunting, etc. Plus, they supported Prop. 15, which would have banned all handguns eventually, the registration of all long guns, and the eventual confiscation of virtually all guns of the serfs and worker peasants of Kalif.)

As for you calling me "a liar," hey, dude, can't you do any better than that??

I must tell you, I was a peace officer for quite a number of years, in one of the largest non-Federal departments in the world, in So. Kalif, and also many years professional writer for teeeeeveeee and movies, and I've been insulted by WORLD CLASS Grade A # One Insulters!! Between hard core criminals, and the movers & shakers of show business, I've been called every name in the book, plus quite a few you've never heard of.

You can't hold a candle to those people. Your tepid, insipid "insults" are at best, on a level of nothing more than grade school jibes: laughable little insults hurled back and forth like third graders arguing over who gets to jump on the slide first.

Now, come on. Let's get creative here. Surely, you can do better than "You're a liar!", can't you??

When it comes to insults, I guarantee you I can do better than that.... if you wanna play that game.

You guys have your opinions; I have mine. Ain't politics grand??

Regards to all. L.W.

Leanwolf, nope I don't want to play any games. I'm not here to insult anybody. And, I don't recall insulting you, other than saying that what you posted was a lie, which according to the Sierra Club's website, it is. If you don't like the Sierra Club, that's cool. Just support the ones we know are good, like the RMEF, MDF, and TNC. I'm a member of all three.

LW... thank you, hope ya had a good time out USING our land in pursuit of happiness.

"Bush trashes environment"

"Our outdoor resources and natural environment are under the worst assault since the days of Ronald Reagan and James Watt - and perhaps even the worst in a century.

One of the saddest things happening in Washington is occurring on the environmental front. For a generation, environmental cleanup was a bipartisan cause."

Here is the big thing that was left out of one of the last posts put up!!! "Opinion".
Every one of has one of these and most stink, as this guy's does, if there is proof of the trashing going on, take a picture and prove it. Any one can write flowery words and twist their agenda into what ever they want it to look like by using the written language, but a picture is worth a thousand of these as the saying goes. So before all the "Trashing" of our fine leadership keeps going on in these threads, lets see some thing more tangible than those in the "Opinion" section of some newspaper. Coming from the source (the news media that originated this article), they have all of the advents of modern technology at their fingertips to show more proof than some ones mundane, self-styled ideals of what they’ve made up in their own mind. We can justify any thing we want to in our own mind!!!

I guess you should include the qualifier of opinion when you pass along Rush's nuggets of wisdom? Did you ask for statements to be qualified as opinions for the last administration?
