I've have a Redfield from back when the $75 I spent, was when min. wage was under $4/ hour, and I was barely making more than that as a working college student. Still using it.
I also have a: Simmons, 1983: Bushnell, 1990: Tasco, 2000, and a Leupold VX3 2010. All are still holding point and true to adjustment.
The Redfield, Simmons, and Tasco are in no way as clear as what can be bought today, but that 1990 Bushnell is still pretty bright and claer. ALL are still huntable though.
In the original plan for my latest project rifle, there was never even a thought that came to mind as to which scope I am going to fit it with.... with the minimal price difference, and the fact that Leupold sells Redfield now.....Go Leupold.
