Vehicle Lemon Law?

Mechanical problems are easy. Electrical or computer problems are terrible. My '96 Power Stroke occasionally looses power. I shut the key off and refire and it's fine. It does it in clusters, maybe twice a day for a week and nothing for months. No codes no warning lights. It has 323,000 otherwise trouble free miles.
My '96 F250 with a 7.3 was an awesome truck, until the auto transmission started doing funky things and nobody could fix it.

this one time last year I bought a brand new semi and when I got it home I was waxing it and discovered all 16 painted bolts that hold the sleeper on were just started.
like literally they were just started by hand with like 3 threads on and they weren't lock nuts and there were no lock washers and the bolts pass through the panel on the back of the sleeper and are visible and obviously some of the paint chipped off when I tightened them and lord knows im not gonna let the dealerships body shop touch a new truck so I got some fee touchup paint and just had to swallow it.
I wonder what else they forgot to tighten?!?!?!
how can that even happen?
how is there not some fail safe at the factory.
like they sent it to the paint shop like that. lmao 🙃
Go away. mtmuley

Your truck was built during covid. Supply chain played havoc with complex builds like trucks. It's possible your truck was built earlier than you think. If a truck was on the manufacturing line and they didn't have parts to finish they were parked in a lot until the parts showed up. If the etorque was the problem, I would try to determine the part number on your etorque and investigate from that angle. If ram had to make a design change then they most likely had to roll the part number. Trust me, you can't rely 100% on build date.

There's so many electronics and computers on these trucks. It's probably something really simple, but there's 100s of miles of wiring to find a short in. It's shitty, but it's a trade in type of gig it sounds like.

Trade it back to the dealer who's done all the work on it. After they "fix" it, trade it in. So they can have the "guilt" of selling someone else a faulty vehicle.

Unfortunately, if you can't get a good resolution to the problem then it would be best to unload it and move on. The problem seems like it could potentially be dangerous. I wouldn't worry too much about the next buyer. Any service work should be available to see on the Carfax report and if someone does their homework they should see it and think twice.

get a lawyer that has experience, should be able to find one on a dodge forum
We considered this, however, by the time I'm vested in legal fees, I'm right close to the trade in value versus buyback.
I'm not sure what's worse. Having retainer after retainer or getting rear ended. Not much of an "or". They would both be a pain in the ass.
Serious note though, it might be worth paying for a consultation.

You should have left it on those RR tracks? LOL

Frustrating to watch a new/newish vehicle hemorrhage value Charles....even worse the nagging thought of being stranded.

I've argued this continuously with FCA. I can not do a lemon law type buyback so it's basically at the whim of a customer service buyback and that's not something they're interested entertaining.
I called / left a message with the general manager for the dealership. Shared while the service manager has been involved and to no fault of hers as she works with FCA appointed field tech, we are still w/o any resolution even though the exact setting turned into a massive recall for the e-torque 1500's up to Sept 2021 builds and ours was built Nov 2021.

In July of this year, NHTSA began reviewing October through ? That covers my truck for the same exact setting.

I'll see what the general manager has to share.
My warranty expires @40k though, i believe, it continues under warranty work for the same issue even after 40K miles.

I am the WORST sales person ever. I spend more time speaking about any known issue I've run into to ensure the person has full transparency. Private party sales is out nor would I want that on my conscious - The general manager just called back, and he was empathetic and offered on his end to give a good trade in value though FCA is the responsible party for buyback options.
I'm driving down there tomorrow for them to do another service exam based on field tech interests and their own... basically likely another wasted trip though I suppose it records another instance of an ongoing issue unresolved(?). Today, I'm going to chew on FCA again - general manager shared while he appreciates my professional demeanor speaking with him, if he was to offer any advice, it would be to rachet up the intensity of the situation with FCA for a service buyback. Guess it's time to raise it up a notch...
Sell it on Carvana, you don’t need to say a word about the problem. Just take the pictures and get the check.

At a restaurant waiting as the truck plays the diagnostic routine... apparently a few reviews of fuel tank pressure, etc.
Basically another day driving 2 hours for them to do a diagnostic eval.
It's the typical story, operates fantastic. It's a smooth driving vehicle. Hemi has gumption. Leather seats, all the cushy bells and whistles, it's a very enjoyable truck to drive. UNTIL...
Is what it is. Speaking of, t
Apparently my prior FCA case worker was toasted. So now my case Is in another's hands.
Waiting for her call today.
@rjthehunter has it likely right considering the year and covid shortages. Regardless, year and month built is the basis they go by for cut off of supposed fix that the prior month and year before was involved in the recall. I'm going to share this idea. Ask what was done for the recall and to follow that process, considering my truck does the exact same as the recalled trucks.

Meh, FCA is the ticket. Have to work on them. Seems that is the main point of "opportunity".
