Do you ever run into halibut? I've been diving MT and WY, but am itching to hunt the kelp forests and reef edges for wsb, calicos, halibut, yellowtail, etc.

Cool to know there are other spearos on HT!

I havent run into halibut, but I also havent been targeting them. As far as WSB, calicos and yellowtail, they are farther south, for the most part.

That's fantastic Birdman! I really miss diving. Living on the Oregon Coast isn't as welcoming for diving as Southern California was. Nothing beats a good day in the water bringing up an assortment of treats to please your palate.

We spent some time on the Oregon coast this summer. We didn't do any diving, but I was scouting spots the whole time. Looked a lot like what we have here in NorCal and I think I will have to go back and investigate!

If you can get a spot where the visibility is decent (15'), it's going to be a better dive. So hard to find that. And bloody cold.
