Ukraine / Russia

Thats called a "HINT"
A hint of what? Free speech not being allowed here?

Sorry, but I don't just blindly believe in the narrative spewed by the mainstream media, or any politician. It's been proven to me time after time in the last several years, that more often than not it's nothing but lies. I know I'm not the only one who doesn't trust the media or our government, but on this forum it sure does seem like I am.

BigFin allows a huge range of opinions on this forum - including those that directly disagree with him. But he fairly consistently draws the line when things get badly personal between members, paint whole swaths of society as evil or stupid, are clearly racist or misogynistic, or posts that smack of the left/right fake news wars of Facebook.

You have not violated first or third concern, but your complete and total rejection of every news source on the planet without clear explanation other than “if you don’t see it by now I am not going to explain it to you” and your posting of sources with no broadly understood veracity or value while refusing to articulate why they should be viewed as credible and truthful fly into the second and fourth problems.

And if you don’t see these distinctions then you are not actually participating in a discussion, you are just lobbing cr*p at the wall.

Maybe, but I don't go to the lengths you do to prove it.
I didn't realize I was trying to prove anything. I'd been hearing the mainstream narrative regarding Russia for a while, then saw the videos by Jimmy Dore and Kim Iversen, which was an entirely different perspective on the whole situation. I thought people would like to hear those perspectives. I was wrong. But I'm really not trying to prove anything. Because I'm no expert on foreign affairs and I don't wish to be. All I know, and I'll definitely stand by this, is that we can't trust our government. (or the media)

And apparently you don't either?
This thread is about Ukraine and Russia, not your personal grievances. As much as I resisted the temptation to do so with some of your COVID posts, you are about to get yourself shown the door.

Get over it or get on with it. You decide. We've got more important things to discuss than polluting important threads with your hurt feelings.

No hurt feelings here. Delete me from the forum if you wish. 👍

Can I post about Finland as it's not Russia or Ukraine?
But it is linked, Russia have been sabre rattling that if Finland joins NATO there will be consequences, I understand it was being discussed yesterday in Finland, and a referendum is in the offing, I believe a majority do wish to join NATO.
Then I started looking around and found this article, I found it very interesting in how they have trained their people to defend their country and the tactics to employ from a very early age, with Putin you can say never, but even if they decide against joining NATO, it will be another miscalculation on Putins decision making to invade there.
Cheers
Richard

Yes. All part of the same discussion.

I would think Putin's history study would show him the results of the Winter War of 1939 and he would think twice, thrice, before doing such.

My personal opinion is that history has shown well-supplied guerrillas always win in the end. If Russia completely overthrows and establishes a puppet regime, there will still be an active resistance. That is presuming that no intrusion creates a NATO Article 5 call. Cyber attacks from Russian operatives on Western countries have been ongoing for years and this has not been taken as belligerence amounting to warfare. Cyber actions added to “collateral” strikes on humanitarian aid or accidentally on purpose into Poland? Well then, that’s a shit sandwich we’ll all have to swallow.

How many guys on this board had hunts planned in Ukraine or Russia in 2022 or 2023?

No Russia plans but I might visit my Army son if he gets deployed to a peaceful section of Germany or Poland.
I know its not public hunting but I always wanted to do one of those eastern European estate type hunts maybe 1/2 driven pheasants and half driven big game. Sorta seemed like a nice sporting relaxing vacation. Food/Wine/Hunting/Shooting

I made a comment about this earlier. Off top of my head I know there's lots of big $$ in Kamchatka hunts for moose and brown bear. Surely some folks hunts have been cancelled

To me Russia has always seemed like a great place to go hunt. I believe that notion is pretty well shot out for now though
