Hi All,
I got a hunter onto his first Roe Buck last week, a great shot 182 yards with his Sako 85 in .308
He wanted to gut the deer himself, we do it slightly different over here and he opened up the throat to enable him to tie off the oesophagus and then pull it through back through the body, i noticed him struggling and offered my help, at the same time i remembered what he did for a living, he is an ear nose and throat surgeon!
Be he is a really top bloke and laughed it off, and did sort it himself.

Cheers
Richard

Awesome! You're pics are giving me some vacation ideas. I can hang out with you for a few days and I'll drop my wife off to hang out with William and Kate. Can you arrange that? ;) :D

Interesting method. When you said "slightly differently" and I saw the blue gloves I wasn't thinking his hole of choice was going to be the mouth.
That's funny, i will pass on your comment

Bucket list ;)
You bet!

Nice photo Richard! Pretty deer, pretty rifle,Butt ugly camo grease gun on that Sako.
I agree, i hate the damned things, totally unbalance the rifle, but some estates over here insist on them.

Great idea, there are quite a few guys who would like to hang out with Kate, but not in her present condition!

I should have taken the camera with me today, i saw my first ever 'white' red stag.

Its going to be an interesting 3 weeks starting this week.
The Roe have just started to rut, they love it when the evenings are humid and hot.
The will come to a call if you get the technique just right.
If we get any I will post up the pictures.
Cheers

Bucket list for sure! Thank you for adding fuel to my fire! Awesome critter!

Looking forward to any stories and pics you share! Love seeing what the hunting is like on the other side of the planet.

Just collected my trail camera which I put up last week (ignore the date I must sort that) but typical, no roe buck but a red deer hind!

The picture below was from 10 days ago, nice old roe buck with a very shy deer hunter!

Cheers

Chalk up another, we stalked slowly around the maize field and I spotted the roe buck but only its back as the maize obscured most of it, I managed to move it by using the roe call and he shot it off his sticks at only 60yards.

All the male deer are in season tomorrow!
Cheers
Richard
