Turkeys - lets see em

It has been some years since I last took a gobbler. We don't have them in NW Ontario although I did see a Jake 10 years ago and got trail cam pics of a Tom at a few mineral sites 3 or 4 years back. Quite strange but very cool. Anyway, I have taken quite a few Eastern's in Ontario and Merriam's in Nebraska with a few others mixed in like Oklahoma and Florida. I was lucky to have hunted with some very seasoned hunters and learned much about calling and turkey behavior.20018336_10159021420140597_5836154127633088512_n[1].jpgNeb07020[1].jpg

My kids and I raise most of our own white meat. Minus the 2-3 wild turkeys we get a year. This is one of our Toms that is getting ready to go. He was feeling the 4th of July last night. It's going to be tough to kill a patriot.

Another successful year turkey hunting with my grandsons. These boys make it so fun, like painting their faces when I wasn't looking! Lots of birds this year and too many gobblers if there is such a thing. We have a few more to get in the family to help with that!
