Haven't been this year, but looking forward to going. This was from last year, my best rainbow from the SE
Beautiful!!! Wow!
Pigs!Alrighty I guess I can post a few pics
That first one was bigger than it looks. As the caption says, haha. I caught that guy with a size 24 tiny little midge fly I tied at 1 in the morning while deep into a glass of whisky. Next day I got up too early, drove three hours and hiked two miles and caught nothing for about five hours. Just as I was getting that "Do I suck at fishing?" comment in my head, I decided to toss out one last time into a little seam of water about two feet deep. My line went down and the fish came up! Of course my net got stuck on my pack so I had to grab her with my hand.
The next pic is one of the cleanest looking trout I've caught. She hit a little orange salmon egg I tied.
That dream water is from Idaho but it just looks so good right now so I figured I would post it
That last fish is my biggest to date. Last year on this very date. I tied a fly out of a piece of dead jackrabbit and some elk hair I found on a fence when I was hiking. Drove out to this little creek that dumps into a lake. There were two guys catching enormous pike on crank baits and I gave them a wave. The wind was whipping the water into a froth. One of those winds that every time you cast it throws your line back in your face, haha. So I did what every respectable redneck boy from Virginia would do (fly fishing purists cover your ears), I added a bunch of split shot and whipped my streamer out across the stream. After two quick strips this gal hammered it and I thought I had snagged a log. I didn't even have a camera but one of the pike fishermen saw me fighting the fish and he and his daughter came running over. She had a camera and took this pic, and she said Mister what kind of fish is that? I said its a Miracle Fish!
Measured it out at 28" ....but who's counting
What did you catch him on?
Lucky kid! Those are nice fish.Arkansas
Love this thread and seeing all the great trout pics!
yeahhhh man! nice one!! big ol male!
I hope I don't sound overly petulant, but I don't like you guys. Pay no attention to me, it's been over a year since I've held a trout (or any fish) and my lack of sanity shows it.
