I'm in need of some advice. I'm contemplating going to Avon, CO for New Year's, but the recent weather has me rethinking those plans. If one was to go, which would be the better route west into CO, I-70 or take I-80 into WY, then south to Denver then back west to Avon??? Thanks for any and all advice.

Between the two choices given, I'd take I-70. If you go to Denver and then back, you add a whole lot of miles and two mountain passes. I'm in Grand Junction right now, and we didn't get any snow here (just a dusting tonight). Looks like you got a little more over there.
