As someone who has had dogs his whole life and is back after several years I am dealing with the growing pains as well. I have beagles, always have. The biggest thing is obedience. Beagles tend to be more hard headed than other breeds, but if you cant recall them then they shouldn't be in the woods yet. Its for their safety first and foremost. I would invest in a good E collar. It helps with training and having the GPS feature is invaluable in my opinion.
