Accurate Hawken reproduction who's original maker I am still trying to nail down.
54 caliber, 34.5" Getz barrel 1 1/8" across the flats.
Even has the historically correct deep rifling, 7 lands and grooves with a 1:48" twist.

That's been my thinking. There was a printed page from their website in the shooting bag that accompanied the rifle. There's a serial number hidden on the bottom flat. I'll have to call them up and see if they have a record of it.

A little over 9 lbs. I forgot to mention the barrel is tapered from 1 1/8" to 1" so that helps with the weight some.

I hate to admit this, I got a Traditional kit for xmas 20+ years ago. I still haven't put it together. I told my buddy if I don't put it together this winter, to punch me in the ear.

Kentucky rifle, Traditions kit. .50 cal, 33 1/2" barrel. Lots of fun to build and shoot. Surprisingly, it shoots MaxiBalls (320gr) well - approx -3" group at 100 yds

Yours looks very similar to mine that I built from a Green River kit back in the early '80s. My barrel is also a 1:48 twist, but the barrel is only marked ".54". "J&S Hawken" is stamped on the side of the lock.

I have a early TC Hawken in 50 cal. Taken a few whitetail bucks with it. In the 70's I then bought a Green River Rifle Works "GRRW" Leman trade rifle in 58 cal. 121X serial number. It has the GRRW barrel as the earlier rifles used Douglas barrel's. It should be noted that according to the GRRW collectors group all GRRW rifles were slow twist for round ball's.
Go to their web site and there is a lot of great info about GRRW rifles and many others built during the 70's.
Brent how about some info on the rifle you posted. It's a good looking example of the old guns.

My first scratch build, has taken quite a number of deer. Hope to put it to work IF I CAN EVER DRAW A DEER TAG. Hawken fashioned after the Modena Hawken, 36" x 1" .50 cal, Sharon Barrel. A fun shooter.
