If anyone ever tells you ain’t nothing in Groveton, TX, then they just don’t know. Just got back from there with a AK buddy and we had some fun! Wild hogs moved around most at night so we were out with his thermal scope in the creek bottoms.

Were you on public or private? Not judging! Just interested to learn more. Looks like you had a great time. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

As with many TX hunting ranches, there were high fences, low fences and open land. We didn’t go for the exotic stuff and were primarily on open land. First night there we hunted in a cattle ranch 25mi away and that was so flippin awesome! Must have been five sections; huge acreage. But that was the kind of thing where you need to know a guy who trusts people not to shoot cattle or leave gates open, not available to general public. We were right about the SW tip of the Crockett National Forest. Due to MLDP agreements, had to stay off some areas because there were dudes there finishing deer season.

Glad you guys had a good experience and were optically prepared, those things can be a crap shoot.
Thanks for sharing Ben.

Nice and congrats!!
Headed down in 2 weeks for our annual hog hunt, family place on the Red.
Hoping for warm and dry weather.
Been pretty dry around these parts lately. But it rained all night and still going with quite a bit forecasted for this week.
