Tariffs and Potential Inflation

Estimates are it will add about $1200 per year to your consumer bill.
I was referring to the war on drugs in the 80's. That wasn't derogatory, too young for the 80's and your background on the drugs/ law enforcement end of it.

I'll take it if I don't get taxed on OT anymore, 😉. In all seriousness everyone in this thread needs to get out of the house, myself included. We have no snow at the moment and the ice is a little sketchy for ice fishing...

I also voted for “none of the above”, because I don’t like the “burn it all down” mentality, but also think DEI had run amok based on my experience at work, and immigration has become a significant security issue, based on what I hear from my BP friends and neighbors.

However, I find it shocking that folks seem completely fine with the fact that an unelected oligarch with no official capacity has now taken sole access and total control of our nation’s entire financial system with zero oversight. IMO, there is no legitimate reason for this to be happening, but lots of illegitimate ones come to mind.

Meanwhile, we are all distracted by the other hand with tariffs, pardons, and chaos.

I’m tired of living in unprecedented times.

Could not vote, for just about anyone. The big one once again blank.
I think it will be closer to $2000 extra for me ,at least.
Add up all the wrong moves and it will hit everything, chaos.
It will last at least 2 years.
Hang on.

Open the damn trucks and containers and the smuggling will stop. Slow it down at least.
Hire people to do so.

Maybe belongs in a different thread, but I remember when protecting PII was a thing...

Needed a handful of fender washers the other day, 1/4" hole by 1" diameter would do nicely. $.47 each at Ace. drilled a hole in a roll of quarters. Problem solved no more inflation, or at least cut in half...
Don't laugh I used pennies just the other day. More because I didn't want to spend $20 driving to the store.

The tactic is to see if he can get Canada and Mexico to engage in stopping the flow of illegal drugs and human trafficking. You can decide if it is at emergency levels. He knows he can do only so much to stop it from one side of the border.

Trump wants action not debate from the two. He is doing it to get them acting. It will play out within 30 days.

Is the "flow of illegal drugs and human trafficking from Canada" in the room with us?

Both contries are responsible for border protection. This includes the flow of illegal guns and migrants coming in from the US into Canada.

The relationship between both our countries is getting further eroded for aboslutely no reason. Instead of working together, tariffs are being imposed and will hurt YOU and ME. Border security won't change, but you and I's bills will be higher.

This President is the same one who drafted and signed the latest trade partnership with Canada. Surely, the adults in the room could've sat down and discussed these issues before making idiotic threats of annexation and ridiculous tariffs.
