Tariffs and Potential Inflation

Chinese, Irish, German, Scandinavian, etc Melting pot of immigration infiltrating Native American land. Once Jefferson negotiated with France 15 million paid for the approx 850k sq miles, the western expansion continued, influenced mainly by European countries with often servitude by African and Asian men and children.

Then the gold rush had minorities separating and sparcing out for their own riches along with the European. At that time, it was each person for themselves, countering tribes as we pressed through.

Amazing history - my favorite likely the fur trading operations, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, etc... Rendezvous days!

A great fictional following one a person, Titus Bass as he interacted in the actual historical non fiction world of the day.

Author Terry Johnston

Fun read series of his adventures.

That's pretty cool @BigHornRam
Curious how you determined the history?

I was just reading an article about these Chinese migrant workers. There were a handful of Western states that had significant populations, Montana was one of them. Like it, or not, they were a positive footnote in the history of the West.
They were barely tolerated slave labor, a step below the Irish, but ok.

Republicans are cruel bastards, the timing of this can’t be a coincidence.
Finally something I can get on board with.

Another word that is beginning to lose meaning due to overuse along with nazi, racist, bigot, etc.
The shoe may not fit you, but odds are it fits someone in the group. Socialist and communist are overused for the other side. Just a sign of the times.

Back to tariffs - anyone else intrigued by no announcement on day 1? False promise? Part of a bigger plan for the ERS? Or possibly hearing from the business community?
Don't know why the delay, but it looks like they are supposed to start on February 1st.
