Talk me out of a Knight Ultra Lite

Your experience is atypical. Google around, you'll find that BH209 is widely considered to be the best powder in the industry. There's nothing wrong with liking 777 better (each has its pros and cons), I just want to prevent BH209 from getting a bad rap!
You’re in for a bad time if you joined the internet to defend bh209 reputation. I was bummed I couldn’t get it to work in my knight for the plunger reason

Lol that wasn't my goal at all. BH209 is the industry's premier high performance propellant. That's why you see all the folks shooting Gunworks, Paramount's, and UMLs using it.

It is obscenely expensive after Hogdons acquired it.

Odd that you care that much. I don’t really care but the idea that bh209 doesn’t form a crud ring simply wasn’t the case for me. Not as bad as 777 but it’s not the cure all some make it out to be. Combined with the difficult ignition, 209 is more trouble for me than 777. When you combine that with the exorbitant price of 209, I’m surprised people are still buying it. Makes me wonder if a lot of 209 users have ever tried 777. I feel the same way about #11 caps. People act like they barely work and 209 primers are the only choice. I had too many years of flawless service from #11 caps and 777 to think that way.

I have used every propellant many times and in multiple guns. Everyone in my family muzzleloads. My wife even has an insane CVA Optima V2 pistol. Check out the picture below! In that experience, I've found no finer propellant than BH209 and because of that, I'm not as keen on Knight weapons given that their ignition systems do not like it.

#11 caps are extremely difficult to get onto the nipples in certain guns, like the Knights.

I’ve always wanted one of those cva pistols. Not sure I’d want to shoot one though!
