Howd'y all,

I've had the hankering to switch my custom Tikka 25-06's stock from synthetic to a nice walnut or maple one.

Don't really care about weight much.

I'm just seeking a couple pennies.

What say ye?

Walnut would look good, either ebony or rosewood tip and grip cap.

You probably won't free up as much money as you think.

yea I certainly prefer a wood grain stock on rifles. Especially rifles that dont get beat on. If its your throw in the truck and go rifle id stay with a synthetic stock.

Realistically it doesn't matter. But we wouldn't have eyeballs if we didnt have visual preferences. Walnut is by far my favorite on a nice rifle.

Peas and carrots go together like a walnut stock on a blued vintage rifle. I have one hybrid, a stainless model 70 classic featherweight with a walnut stock. Since the barreled action is so classic it KINDA makes it. Your rifle is way too high tech for a wood stock,,,,which will not be cheap at all.

Wood stocks are quieter when stalking in the brush but that does not seem to be the mission of the rifle in your picture.

Save your money and buy a vintage walnut and blue rifle

My background in architecture leads me to really like the juxtaposition of high tech and old school.

I'm eventually going to be building a 264 win mag, but that'll be the last rifle I build and I know exactly how I want it.

Nice rifle, btw.
