So, my EL’s eye cups , bought in 2019, tend to stick in the closed position and are HARD to extend. No grit/dirt in them and have rinsed in hot water to be sure.

I pretty much have to remove them and grab on lower part with a plier to get them to reextend fully.

Have rinsed in hot water in ade they were gunned up and they are not. Suggestions?

Need to be able to turn them in and out easily. Advice from those in the know appreciated. I probably won’t toss the binos in the trash regardless but would like to fix this issue. 😁

Thx.

Call Swarovski. They will send you a new set of eyecups. They come with a little grease in them so you might have washed it out also.

Do you pull up as you turn? If I push even slightly they are 10 times as stiff. I rarely turn mine as I never take my glasses off while glassing.

I do pull up, you saying do not do that? When the new set comes in I do not want to wreck 'em.

I do pull up, it is a very coarse "thread" for lack of a better word. I have thought mine were sticking before because the harder you try the worse it gets. Sounds like you have something else going on. Glad the company stood behind them.

Mine had the same problem 6 months ago, sent them in and they repaired them free of charge . Plus they cleaned them and found another problem I didn’t realize I had

I had a similar issue with mine. I called them and sent them in. They came back looking and functioning like new. No charge.

I have the newest EL's and was having issues with the eye cups, until last week in Colorado. Did not work the same as my SLC cups. The latest EL's kind of have a toothed-step, for lack of better words and you can't pull as you turn unless you push also. Works better to just lightly hold the cups and turn, you can feel the notched steps

Very true. I am more careful about adjusting new set in and out and see what your mean.
