Sunday Pic of the Day

Yes, I am in West Virginia. I am pretty sure I have seen the same thing, or something very similar, while spring bear hunting in North Idaho.

I see it all over NW MT. I looked up distribution after seeing your post and it’s west coast, Northern Rockies, and east coast down to northern Georgia.

After several roping and wrestling train wrecks, jittery freshman grandson Rafe finally put it together and took #2 in steer wrestling in the second of two rodeos during the MSU Spring Rodeo in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. The Bobcat Rodeo team prevailed, with many impressive performances by freshmen cowboys and cowgirls. A few of the cowgirl successful goat-tiers even performed the traditional gymnastic cartwheel as they ran out of the arena.

The fieldhouse seating was sold out for each evening performance. The Bobcat football team ran into the arena with the flags, leading the Bobcat Rodeo Team just as the rodeo team does on horses for the football team at Bobcat home games. The action was exciting and competitive, the clowns and pickup men were impressive and entertaining, and the atmosphere was electric! MSU Spring Rodeo has to be one of the best, if not the best, college rodeo.

For the slack competitions on Friday morning several Bozeman area school busses arrived with elementary students to watch the action. Whenever a competitor in a blue and gold Bobcat vest rode out, the young Bobcat fans made some real noise cheering them on.

Grandson Rafe is middle cowboy (dark shirt), sitting on Charlie, his calf roping horse.
