Sunday Pic of the Day

A warship near and dear to my heart. Need some paints, glue, masking tape, a tweezers, toothpicks, some sewing thread and artist brushes. A certain amount of patience helps also. A Tamiya kit.
Now, let’s look up some historical facts, and not rush it, but take about 22 hours to paint and assemble. Let’s not overdo it when it comes to painting. Some were even wearing camouflage, but I haven’t quite mastered that yet.
The USS Fletcher (DD-445) named for Admiral Frank Friday Fletcher, was the lead ship of her class, theBF49B948-66BA-4EC0-912C-DA9C41C61814.jpeg Fletcher Class. She served in the Pacific during World War II and also in the Korean War.
Launched, 3 May 1942
Commissioned, 30 June 1942
Stricken, 1 October 1969
Sold 22 February 1972 and scrapped
376 feet long
Speed, 36 knots
273 officers and enlisted
She received 15 battle stars for World War II and 5 battle stars for the Korean War

Nice work.
My uncle was a gunners mate on a tin can in Korea. He passed away when I was young so never got to talk to him about it.
