"My" herd of elk are back after a couple weeks of not seeing them. They've been hanging pretty close for a few days. These guys are about 250-300 yds out.

My daughter painted a picture today as a Christmas present for her grandma.

Pheasant hunt in 18" of fresh snow and single digit temps was a suffer fest. Saw birds, no shots. Cattails snowed in so they were in the trees and brushy fence rows. Better than watching football all day though!

might as well have been hunting in antarctica. this recent snow storm created wind, temp, and snow depth conditions in wyoming i wasn't mentally or physically prepared for. it killed me packing up and heading home having been within both 100 yards and 1000 yards from the elk in two days of hunting. the physical toll it took to get to them after locating them proved too much and left too little time in the day both times as temps quickly plunged towards zero (from a balmy 9 or so) with 35+ mph winds.

holy chit folks. it's no joke up there this time of year.

sure is pretty though.
