A day late, but I had a fun Sunday. It was my oldest son's birthday (14!) and we went to check on the smallmouth situation. They were in and we landed a bunch. Mostly chunky 3 pounders like this one, but he brought in one that was easily 5 pounds, which spit the hook as I was grabbing it's lip, so no picture... What a beautiful spring day!

WOW 3-5 pounders! I grew up on smallmouths back east and we measured them in inches, not pounds.
Biggest I ever caught was 16 inches, my twin caught an 18 incher.
Ounce for ounce, they are among the strongest fighting fish.

Well after 3 RMEF banquets this year I was finally able to add the banquet rifle to my HENRY collection via the live auction.
then things got even better when my number was drawn for the weatherby vanguard 7mm with scope. Over the years and many banquets that’s the first gun I’ve WON . Even though it all went down Saturday night it’s my Sunday pic.
