No, that’s outside Smugglers. The plan was to make it to Christys but wind blew pretty hard so we found squid at Anacapa, then hunkered around Bluebanks, yellowbanks and smuggs. Spent the night there at smuggs. Nice trip!
I figured there would be more sailboats anchored up in smugglers with the holiday weekend. Been a long time since I‘ve been around there.
 
I’ve spent too much time remodeling the last four plus years. @MTLabrador inspired me to dig this stuff back out.

I built that 8 wt in 1996. Caught some hella big rainbows in Alaska with it that fall. The last fish it landed was about a 27-28 rainbow. This thing is going to see some use in the coming years.

Heading to the fly shop tomorrow for materials.
 
My only question is what is that metal thing with a stick attached to it? Maybe some sort of prehistoric backhoe?

that sir, is a hipster 12 dollar grave digger from wal mart that has sat in my truck bed for the past 4 years.
 
Having worked for the government, I can tell you that it takes hours of training and proper certification before one is allowed to operate such sophisticated equipment.
