It is! Grew up making on a 3x10 with my uncle, and around 200 or so gallons a year. Wanted to share that experience with my kids so my dad and I threw a 2x3 together last spring with a bunch of scrap and a cheap $300 flat pan. Averaging 12-13gph with the blower off a junk furnace, not too shabby. Have 75 taps out this year. Looking to upgrade and jump up to 3-400 taps next spring on a 2x5. Not being able to make syrup in the pan kind of chaps my ass.

Those f---k--g Samsung products really piss me off, out of the 3 we bought not a 1 has lasted more than 3 years without an issue. I spent yesterday evening changing out the pressure regulator of the exact gas stove you have, went to fire it up and the burners won't ignite now! guess I'll be investigating that this evening....🤬

That sucks! I've had these for 6 years with no issues. I got lucky or you got unlucky.
