i only spent two days on my solo elk hunt. lack of sign and the depressed mental state that usually associates solo elk hunts caused me to bail and go hunt with my friends in another unit where i did not have a tag.

it was a great decision. new country, chasing after elk we knew were staying in an area, yet only to have them vanish like ghosts as our plans and efforts were really lining up... as elk often do i guess. i'll call it a first season success this year.
