20 years living in this area and this is the first one of these I have seen. It ended up moving through my yard right before yesterday's snow storm.

This is definitely a bit corny, but my kids got one of those caterpillar grow kits, and all 5 successfully grew into butterflies! Once this crazy weather blows over we can’t wait to let them free in our garden! Better yet we stumbled into a pretty cool grow and release “pet” program. Far fewer vet visits for sure

My kids enjoy checking milkweed plants for monarch caterpillars. Keep a few fresh milkweed leaves and water in the cage and in a few weeks they will form a chrysalis. About 2 weeks after that you have a monarch.
