Summer Pictures

I'm not sure where summer went. I haven't even put away my snow skis yet. I worked too much, trapped between making money for my kid's college when the customers need me, and spending time with my kids. Another week and it will be October.

My daughter is turning into a great hiker and understands we live in a special place. Sam might too, but he still pretends not to. He finally admitted that watching those elk battle was pretty cool, but he still likes to pretend seeing grizzly bears is nothing special.

Sunday was our last summer hike. I worked everyone pretty hard, and after 7 hours of off-trail wandering they were happy to let me carry them across the river. I was happy to do it while I still can.

Now it is time to chase some elk and make fall pictures.

I'm staying at UNC Charlotte for the summer. Wandered around campus a bit this evening, and really liked the look of the moon over what I assume is the engineering quad. The photo doesn't quite do the scene justice. One of the guys sitting down would later come over and chat with me a bit.
