I’m running 2950fps with a 180gr from a 27” barrel, so only 150fps faster than Nosler data for a 7 Rem Mag with a 26” barrel.

Obviously I’m pushing the 280AI, and rhe 7mag could be pushed to match it but, could it really beat it by enough to matter?

RL-23 and N560 both show prsssure signs with room left in the case. Something a little slower would probably allow further velocity increase.

Look at Ruger Hawkeyes in 375 Ruger. They're out there and not all that costly.

I had to get my .375 Ruger Alaskan electroless nickel coated (Robar, R.I.P., did an amazing job), because it began to rust on it's first trip to Alaska, but otherwise/after that I love the thing. 1" groups or less, good to 300 yards any day of the year, probably more if I practiced it. Compact, reliable, and will ventilate anything on the planet...

I set up a LH Savage 30/06 for a travel rifle for utility and also so I wouldn't care if it was lost or stolen. Sub-MOA with CorLokts. Just couldn't do it. I have reasons for not liking Savage, but there's no reason to dislike 30/06.

I don’t like cross/push button safeties. They’re never set up to be convenient to quickly turn off and on with your hand in the shooting position. Does it matter? No…but it bugs me, so I pretty much only buy guns with tang safeties.
