Stolen custom shotgun ($1000 reward)

My friend just posted this on Facebook:

$1,000 REWARD!!!
HELP ME FIND MY STOLEN GUN, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. PLEASE SHARE AND LIKE THIS POST SO MORE PEOPLE SEE IT (one share can make you $1,000!). This is a very special gun, handmade for me in Italy by two 90 year old gunsmiths. It was a present and the last gun they ever built. It's irreplaceable and insurance will not cover it. 20 Gage, Side by side shotgun. My initials (PM) are printed in gold under the trigger. The engraving on one side shows a pheasant scene and on the other side chuckars. It was stored in a brown soft case with plastic tip. Serial number 04092. Please call me with any info at 406-580-6040 or the Bozeman Police department. The gun photos and serial number have been filed with the police department. Whoever took this is better off with $1,000 than handcuffs.

When I shoot trap league I see guys leave their guns lay around out in the open all the time. Theres no way I would take a gamble like these guys do.

It was taken from his car. Yeah, I'm sure he doesn't need advice on what he shouldn't have done . Lucky SOB had it returned this morning. Social media is something else. Thanks on behalf of him.

Good reminder to folks to keep a record of serial numbers on your firearms, scopes, binoculars, cameras, range finders, and GPS units. Also very good to have pictures of them just like this fellow did. I keep one record at home and my Insurance agent has a copy of everything as well. If you were out of town someplace on a hunt and a rifle or two were stolen and you report it right away, but you cannot come up with the serial numbers. A quick call to your insurance agent and there you go! It's real important for LEO's to have that piece of the description because the quicker they can get that out there the better!
