I have a stainless barreled action on one rifle and another that is cerakoted gray. Both are in black stocks currently (one plastic, one CF). I'm looking for paint job ideas that go well with stainless/gray rifles. I've done speckled gray before on a stainless Tikka, and it looked okay. I've have a few camo sponge painted stocks on blued rifles but I'm not sure that stainless would look as good. Would love to see pictures of stainless barreled actions in painted stocks for some ideas. Thanks!

@noharleyyet has a stainless wood combo that is pretty snazzy. On my stainless rifles, just black with gray. Don't get too fancy with them. mtmuley
Yea, I really like stainless on wood. But neither of these are wood, so I have options. The plain black doesn't look bad at all, but I do like some textured paint on my hunting rifles to give me some grip on those cold or wet days. The plastic stock has some checkering for grip, which is okay, but the CF stock is slicker than snot and will need something added for grip.

I know you aren't leaning this direction but a stainless rifle with a nutmeg walnut laminate stock is gorgeous. Glass and/or pillar bedded and it is as strong and stable as a sythetic platform.

I've done textured paint on a stock before. It felt really nice after it dried, however by the time I put on all the coats of clear coat you couldn't feel it anymore.
I've used textured paint on plastic stocks for years now, and have never put on clearcoat. Wore just fine in the field.

This is what I normally use, but I'm looking for some new ideas for this gun. I really like that "granite" or "stone" paint job pictured above. Would love to know what they used.

Splurge for a Game Warden style carbon fiber & cry once...you won't regret it.

I used Krylon white "Marbelizing" paint on the stocks of several of my rifles.
Here it is on the black Weatherby Griptonite stock that I modified to fit my Rem 700 7mm RM...

And on another Griptonite foul weather stock for my .300 Wby Vanguard...

And on 2 other Wby Vanguards in .223 and .308 Win...
