am having an issue with my sight bottoming out at 80 yards, and having my fletching hitting the sight housing at the 75 yard mark. I moved the housing to the top of the allowable adjustments and am still having the issue. My arrows aren’t too heavy, and my bow shoots decently fast…trying to figure out what is going on and am looking for advice. Specs below with some attached pictures.

pics are with sight tape set at 70

Prime Logic ct5 70# @ 28.5” draw
Easton Axis arrows - 413 grains (chrono at 285)

Can you move the sight back toward the riser? I think it would give you better range because the angle would be greater due to the shorter sight radius. The other option would be to lower your anchor point causing you to need to raise your peep and sight to compensate. This could be a issue to adjust to the new anchor point.

Get rid of the housing ring that Cabe designed, it's not needed. If you want some type of ring, get a paint pen and paint the housing face. If it still hits, flip the arrow over. Probably get another .250 clearance and nothing changes.

Raise your peep. Do not shoot @#)(# feather down it will contact the drop away arrow rest.

That rest doesn’t really function based on timing. It either drops or it doesn’t. Don’t shoot @#)(# vane down. Or try it and see if you put an arrow in the dirt. The compromise, and I doubt any others would object, is to put that @#)(# vane at 1 o clock.

Yep...when I owned and operated my archery shop I had to explain this to so many people and showed them on the rest where their vane was hitting leaving a mark. He should not have had to remove anything just raise his peep sight.

I had this issue. Depending on what release you use you can probably move your peep up higher. Then you would obviously have to move the housing up higher as well to get to that. Then you have to re-sight everything but for me it was much more comfortable

The hamskea has more going on with it that lends itself to being more accurate due to the arrow riding the rest slightly longer than other rests (e.g., QAD). But I have shot with a lot of people who had their hamskeas cord slip and the timing go out of wack resulting in the big misses and asking for tools and a prayer. The QAD just snaps down and is kind of fool proof in a lot ways. But it isn’t tall enough to shoot a blazer vane down for clearance. As for shooting longer distances, I like the idea of raising the peep. If you feel like you anchor too high on your face and maybe wanted to try what it feels like to anchor lower on the jawline, plus get a lot more yardage out of that site - raise the peep. But raising the peep might also change your close to medium distance site marks on the tape. I don’t know why this happens- just personal experience. Consider what is most important and make small changes to one variable at a time.
