Sorry to hear the news, my Dad turns 90 in April and still holding his own.

It’s tough to see your hero and mentor slip away...
 
It will be 10 years this October. He was 56.At least once a year I completely lose it remembering him. Prayers OP.
 
Always brings a tear to my eye when I think of my Dad. What I would give to have him around a camp fire with my siblings, kids and grandkids, just to show him what he wrought.
 
Condolences. Sounds like you were fortunate in that you had a great mentor in him, and that he lived a long, full life. I'll be celebrating with my folks their 50th anniversary this summer and will certainly treasure the visit.
