Smith and Wesson Revolvers

Question for anyone into older S&W revolvers, I bought what I thought was a Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman 357 but upon inspection of the frame under the cylinder, it says Model 57, which would make it a 41mag . Gun also came with the original blue/silver S&W box, which is labeled with Model 28-2 and the correct serial number for the gun. Anyone ever run across this? I thought at first someone had changed a 41 to a 357, but it looks like it came from the factory like this.

Hi I’ve never seen something like that...does the cylinder take either cartridge?

No, 357 cylinder and barrel. I’ll have to contact S&W to see if they can provide any info.
