Have you considered just lying and claiming ridiculous fuel economy numbers from your diesel? The number of people who will say with a straight face that their 96 Ford 7.3 gets 27 mpg is just ridiculous.

A smaller truck is typically a little cheaper on parts and maintenance compared to full size trucks

Plenty of Subarus at fishing access sites. Rafts, drift boats, skiffs, etc - no problem really.

You could get the Gladiator with an ecodiesel- 22/28/24mpg. But the added fuel cost and cost of the motor itself would get you a fair bit of unleaded. Same for the Colorado with the Duramax, as mentioned earlier. Or just import yourself a diesel Hilux

I saw Kendall Ford of Bozo had some F-350s last winter for 127k. List price was 85k.

We ordered 4 pickups last August and doubt we will even see them in 2022.
