I saw 3 on Saturday. They were chasing mule deer.
I was scared, and thought about shooting, but then thought...what would Jose do?

There are some hard core people up north. One year Fish and Game put up a check station the day before the deer season. It was burned to the ground the next day. 2 years ago a buddy was sitting in a bar up north and a guy walked in wearing a wolf tail on his hat. He pulled it out and showed it to the bar tender got his free beer and let everybody check it out. It still had pink meat and skin on it. I Headed up that way this week to see if I can get the smoke pole to speek to a whitetail or elk.

There are some hard core people up north.

That is an understatement...when talking about the mighty wolf to some folk up there you would think Idaho Fish and Game is 100% responsible for dipping their stinger in their wives honey. (I couldn't think of a better way to describe my thoughts ). And if you disagree with them about anything you are an instant a-hole. I'm not implying all Northerns are this way as I know of some real good folk up there.

Keep in mind, Idaho County is where the State's Director of Fish and Game got caught with a cow elk "in the wrong place, wrong time" this year.

I did hunt in Idaho County this Fall, and, I saw more ELK than I have in the last 10 years, unfortunately, I was deer hunting.

If I had a muzzleloader, and knew how to load it, I would definitely think that is the place to be hunting this late season....
