I use a pad, but don't use "reloading lube". I coudn't find anywhere locally that carried reloading supplies and was in a time crunch. Through some internet searching I found a much cheaper replacement: wire pulling lube!! I picked up a bottle at Home Depot and got 32oz for about $8. Much cheaper than traditional lubes. Some folks even dilute it and dip the case or use a spray bottle. So far I just use it like the regular Lyman lube that I ran out of. I imagine this will last me a LONG time. FWIW...

I did not clean dies for a long time. Finally, I decided to have a go at it since there seemed to be black stuff on a lot of casings. Man that die was dirty! Good tip.

It is a good habit to not put your dies away until you have cleaned them. A lot of reloading problems would be minimized if people did that.

These dies are nearly brand new...

I was lazy and tried something new... basically was using an amsoil product that is similar to WD-40... I'll definitely use a different lube method when I finish this batch up...

I use carb or brake cleaner spray to clean my dies. just spray it in generously but do it outside. Let them dry before putting them away.
