Nice! Every person is different in the way that they load. Do you feel that these are "warm" keeper loads?
They are max book loads yes. But I load that way no matter the barrel length

And offer flat brims too. mtmuleyCan you imagine how much money you would make pedaling those shirts at the Expo net weekend in SLC?

It is very odd for me to not get an exit with a AB.I’ve had lots of accubonds not exit but they are always against the hide on opposite side

I'd say I'm about 75% on exits with AB but way fewer than partitions for sure. I should also say, most of the bullets I've caught have been on elk.It is very odd for me to not get an exit with a AB.
We shoot them in two rifles. A .270 and a .300 RUM. Have never recovered one. Even exited an elk at about 600 yards. mtmuleyI guess my experience has been more with elk so could be why I’ve experienced what I have
That could be. The only elk I’ve killed had an exit, though. Same with my mule deer buck.I guess my experience has been more with elk so could be why I’ve experienced what I have

Sheesh. That is exactly what my load does. I've killed a pile of elk with it. Never had to use four. And I know a 200 grain Accubond will penetrate 1/2 inch mild steel plate at 950. mtmuleyI watched a cow soak up 4 200 grain accubonds and everyone was against the hide. 300 yards started life at 3200fps. Crazy stuff

Dang it. What do you think you’re gonna try next?I’ve watched 5 or 6 elk shot with that rifle. All have taken at least 3. It’s honestly why I’m looking at a different bullet for my rum

Not my experience at all. Loaded the first one in 04 I think. Absolutely nasty at killing elk. And, out of all those multiple Accubond kills, how many of the subsequent shots were really needed? mtmuleyI’ve watched 5 or 6 elk shot with that rifle. All have taken at least 3. I’ve had great luck with exits and performance with 120 grain NBTs in my 7-08. That 120 grain bullet is stouter than alot of folks realize.I care more about internal damage than an exit wound so I’m a Berger, eldm, eldx, nosler ballistic tip fan

Yep it’s just a shortened 140 grain ballistic tip. Basically cut 20 grains off the base and kept same jacket taperI’ve had great luck with exits and performance with 120 grain NBTs in my 7-08. That 120 grain bullet is stouter than alot of folks realize.
Agreed. And I know where you are going with this. mtmuleyIf an elk is standing it gets another. Seen enough odd things that until they hit the turf we keep shooting
It’s my understanding that they took the 20 grains from the front half. That makes the jacket thicker.Yep it’s just a shortened 140 grain ballistic tip. Basically cut 20 grains off the base and kept same jacket taper
