Shelter-in-place cooking

Hank Shaw posted a recipe last week with a whole pig's head rubbed in achiote paste and sevilla oranges. The timing was perfect with a hunt this past Monday, lastnight I got to eat it and it was effing delicious. I have four front shoulders I can experiment with now for this recipe. Certainly they won't have the je ne sais quoi of the head, but a lot more meat

Wow that looks delicious! Gotta have the grilled pineapple also. Nice job JR!

It’s not exactly home cooking, but it is a date night of sorts. The first time out to dinner since March???? One of the extra classy watering holes in the area set up cheap lawn furniture in the parking lot and is selling take out. It’s a nice night.

edit: The people at the lawn furniture 6’ away brought their pet bird. They asked for a wing bone to feed the bird.

Trying some venison "barbecue" this evening. It's not the real deal as the rain this week prevented me from smoking it for the couple hours I had hoped to be able to, but it's been circulating at 70C for 45ish hours. Letting the sauce reduce on the meat while the sweet potatoes bake, then we'll give it a try. Shredded very nicely, so I'm hopeful.
