I just got back in town this morning and my mom told me that she heard on the news that some school in Colorado was flying the Mexican flag next to the American flag, and the principal/teacher was an hispanic who said their school was 51% hispanic, i can`t find anything on this, [my mother is 78 and sometimes gets the story wrong] anyone hear about this?

DENVER - Criticism over a Mexican flag hung in a classroom has led school officials to create a policy that says the display of foreign banners must be temporary and related to what is being taught in class.

Officials at North High School, where the student population is 84 percent Hispanic, said they received complaints over a photograph in the Rocky Mountain News taken on Monday, the first day of school.

The photo showed a Mexican flag displayed in a classroom next to a U.S. flag.

Andrew Fox, who teaches English to Spanish-speaking students, said he wanted his Latino students to feel more welcome.

School superintendent Jerry Wartgow said some people complained there should never be any non-U.S. flags displayed in the schools.

"It's a school, for God's sake," said Wartgow. "That's where you study countries." Other people were upset that the American flag was hung improperly, with the stars on the wrong side.

In response to the complaints, school principal Darlene LeDoux removed the Mexican flag and another one displayed in the school's lobby next to a poster of the Statue of Liberty.

The News reported Friday that the new guidelines are still being written, but that they would protect the display of flags but require any such display to be related to the curriculum.

Sounds like a reasonable resolution to the problem has been reached. I think the flag of any country the students are currently studying should be able to be displayed short term. What do you think, cjcj?

Thanks Guppie9 for that post, Ithaca i don`t see any problem with displaying the flag of any country, that is being studied. But one thing that is happening in AZ and other states is pro-illegal immigration hispanic groups are constantly pushing their agendas. They are infiltrating and pushing their hispanic culture on schools/business etc. I was in wallmart last week and they were playing that yabba dabba doo bullshit on the store intercom! I told the manager that this is America and iwould not shop here if they didn`t turn it off, he said the "night crew" must have left it on, and he went and had it turned off. We have been invaded and i am just resisting when i can, where i can, and however i can. My poor mother wasn`t very accurate by what she had told me. Thanks again guppie9.

It seems to me that a Gov. building was flying a flag of the Confederacy just not to long ago and was forced to remove it. That was a part of our actual history.
