Funny thing is says would be considered for 25/26 season. People (NRs) already got tags as any weapon seasons. Idaho made those tags unit specfic so would have to kick can till 26/27 season i would suspect. Yet another problem with way idaho does NR tags.

I don’t think the tag purchased designates weapon type does it?

Not necessarily. But if the unit they bought the tag for was a rifle hunt and then IDFG switches it to a muzzleloader hunt that could be kinda crappy for them.

I was chatting about this with a buddy today regarding non-residents with tags. They may just have to turn the tags in if they don't want to hunt with a muzzleloader.

It wouldn't be the first state to pull a bait and switch...

Yeah, it would be. I suppose if you make the decision to buy a tag before the regulations come out that’s part of the risk you run.

Kinda. I’d argue that they bought it based on what it’s always been. I mean they have to buy them when they go on sale and are buying something that is being advertised as a rifle hunt. I’d be unhappy if I were in their shoes. We’ll see. I’m sure IDFG will make it right.
