After circling around we came out right on top of the buck at 20 yards. Nathaniel, being frazzled forgot about the safety and just about bent the trigger he was pulling so hard. I hissed "safety!" and heard the "click" followed by the shot. At 20 yards, he was right on the money! The buck ran 15 yards and tipped over.

The two fawns were my work.

Just in case people are wondering, each of us had 1 buck tag and 2 doe/fawn tags for a total of 6.

Glad to see it worked out for the boy. A bit of frustration like that can be a good learning tool as things don't always go as planned.

Glad the boy was able to seal the deal. My son had the same problem on Duck Hunt on the Super Nintendo system. Boy couldn't hit the screen from across the room to save his life. Once he got next to the TV, he became a master and got to level 37.

Isn't there a mountain somewhere around there with some faces carved into it?
