Was out scouting and checking trail cams today and ran across this pup. He was in pretty rough shape. Was laying right on the trail and got up as I approached at about 20’, struggled to walk about 10’ into this creek and just laid down. I was literally 5’ feet from him and he just laid there looking at me and shaking. I thought about putting a .45 cap in him to end his misery, but I was on a popular recreation trail at that point and had already seen several people so decided against it. I figured I’d check on him on the way back out, assuming he’d likely be dead by then anyhow. But when I came back thru about 2 hrs later, he was gone.
I'm watching a nice brow tine bull develop as well. Started getting pics of him when he was just nubs. Also getting lots of coyote pics and a few moose as well.
Was fortunate to take a good sized buck with my bow again this year. Saw lots of awesome bucks and had tons of fun this season. Only downside is that I have 280 days to wait for next mule deer season to open!
