Scat question

I was taught that deer scat like this is from bucks who are all amped up on hormones. That's what causes the bunching.

On this site I have heard that this bunching is from diet, and can be either doe or buck.

Which is it, or is it something else?

I’d say it’s a 7 pointer for sure.

From the looks of it, it definitely is a seven-pointer with a left broken brow tine... that was missed in 2023 by a 23year old from Utah.

I believe diet contributes to the clumping, or lack thereof.
Woody browse, grain= pellets
Fruit, moist vegetation = clumping
At least that is what I read in the past... and I stayed at a Holiday Inn once also.

When I was young folks used to say bucks made clumps and does made pellets. All kinds of wives tales out there.

Elk poop has the same tendencies.
