SB 442 - Habitat and Access

SB 442 has been scheduled for a hearing next Friday, 4/14 at 8 am in House Tax.

We'll have alerts going out, but feel free to send in notes of support to the committee and let them hear from you.

There's a lot of spending bills in the mix right now, and we need an army of support to get this through the finish line.

Let's do this.

Hearing is tomorrow! Email or message House Taxation here:

Lots of great talking points in the OP as well as linked articles. I finally was given an opportunity to bitch about potholes on some local county roads used to access hunting grounds, and propose a solution that would fund their improvement too.

This sign on letter went to the press. We have over 90 organizations & businesses supporting SB 442.

Keep them pressure on & let's get this done!

What is the oppositions argument/logic?

Governors office wanted to spend the money on different things?

Essentially. FWP raised an issue relative to Pittman Robertson funding, but there is an amendment being offered to specifically call that issue out.

It's a hell of a coalition. More are signing on before the hearing. The MT Rural Electrical Coops & the Oil & Gas Counties are supporting as well. It is not often that this many Montanans agree on something.

Little video of the hearing that we put together.

Did that one guy say "Ravalli County Commissioner"?! that can't be possible.

Excellent job on this one!

The broad support is awesome. So can we assume it gets tabled? 😁

There is a concerted effort by the Governor's office & the chair of House Appropriations to kill SB 442.

Keep hammering on the House floor. Second reading is likely tomorrow unless they try to pocket veto the bill.
I thought Llew Jones was a solutions guy. This should be right up his alley.
