Man, without knowledge of your full financial picture, I would take the extra time off. Life's too short to miss out on opportunities to do what you love to do. 12-15K isn't a ton of money in the grand scheme of things. And as Big Fin always says, you will run out of health before you ever run out of money.

Unfortunately some life stuff happened so this is all going down in Missouri. My eight year old daughter is here (in MO) and I’m not leaving her.

That being said after she’s old enough to go off to college I might end up back in New Mexico. I’m gonna struggle losing my residency.
This is the important part right there, sir! Being there for our kids. And acknowledging the entrapment of NM. We can leave whenever we want, seriously, but I’ll be comparing what I left behind wherever I go.

There is a very sobering fact that I've had hit me pretty hard the last few days.
Some medical stuff has been peaking it's head through and it's all underlying from nearly 20 years of go, go, go, go at the highest standard possible and personal neglect.
So I am taking that into consideration for this transition and my future. When I take time off I need to actually enjoy it and appreciate it. I've enjoyed many of hunts over the last few years, but looking back I think they were all so high strung, high pressure, and I missed out on a lot of the reset time and relax time.

I'd like to keep my health!

I always told myself I'd do my 20, get out, and not move her around during the best time to be in one place. I want her to enjoy school, sports, friends, community!
When she goes off to college Ill be maybe 48 years old and postured to go where I want and do what I want.

I'll just delay my purchase of the ranch in unit 51 and will have to figure out other creative ways to hunt there yearly!
