Steelbed from Brownells isnt as brittle as Devcon.. IMO, Glass bed is much better than either steelbed or Devcon, unless you are skim bedding an aluminum bedding block.

After hearing all the different ways and things to use to bed? What do most gun smiths charge? or should I ask is it worth doing it yourself?

Accraglas Gel is the best product to use. It's simple to use if you follow the directions to the T. I haven't bedded an action for anyone other than myself for years. I used to get $60 for a simple bedding job and as much as $125 for a complete action, barrel job. Not sure what they get these days.
